PERSONAL ITEMS PACKING LIST
limit personal items to 1 purse (back pack), 1 carry on, 1 very large suitcase
Wear on plane (use layers to keep warm here in the north so you don't have a heavy coat To manage in the Dominican Republic)
team shirt work boots sweater or sweat shirt rain coat
passport & second picture id (required), money
Carry On (pack these essential items in carryon in case your luggage is delayed)
Toilet Articles - including face cloth & bath towel (or use beach towel)
Kleenex packets, wet ones for clean-up (med team should have antibacterial wipes)
water bottle ( EMS sells them with a cover)
personal medications (don't forget your malaria pills, antibiotic skin cream, benadryl spray, Band-Aids, Pepto-Bismol, aspirin/Tylenol, vit C)
hat - suggested with brim all the way around sunglasses to protect from sun, flying dirt and debris sunscreen
insect repellent (with DEET if possible) bathing suit
2 days underwear, socks
1 set of work clothes (med team - scrubs, comfortable shoes[sandals not recommended), construction team - work shorts[no spandex or short shorts please], T-shirt, work boots or hiking boots, work gloves)
church clothes: men - slacks, dress shirt I women - dress or skirt and blouse (no slacks or sleeveless dresses or shirts please, it's hard to know what you're walking through so sneakers might be better than sandals)
flashlight
fanny pack (need something you will wear at all times to carry passport, money) ear plugs - nights are very noisy
travel game/book/camera & film
Suitcase (any extra space can be filled with donations)
2 more sets of work clothes, underwear, socks (including extra work gloves) street/evening clothes: men: slacks, sport or t-shirt women: skirt, split skirt or dress extra batteries - flashlight, camera, alarm, walk-man
toilet paper, 3-6 rolls (remove tube to flatten) plastic bag for laundry

pjs (summer)
snacks - days can get long: granola bars, raisins, gorp etc. mirror
backpack for beach beach shoes, beach towel
Optional: tool belt, a book, bandana, portable musical instrument, walk man and small selection of tapes, construction tools, snorkel & fins / gifts for kids - stickers, 1 or 2 small nerf balls, a few bottles of bubble stuff / donations: summer weight clothing, vitamins, medicines
